The batteries included in the recall contain bar codes starting with:

The bar codes are printed on the back of the batteries.
Consumers should remove the batteries from the laptops immediately and contact HP for a free replacement. Only use the laptop by plugging it into an AC power source until the replacement battery is received.
Contact HP toll-free at 888-202-4320 during standard business hours or by visiting HP’s website.

Below is a list of battery pack part numbers and PC model numbers possibly affected by this announcement, including models that may have batteries that were purchased as an accessory or the result of servicing. Click here to check if your battery pack is affected.

How to remove the battery pack:
1) Unlock the latches or remove the screws which secure the battery pack to your laptop.


Case 1: Battery secured with latches

2) Then slide out or pull up the battery pack from your laptop.
